Japan and China mutual recognition agreement concluded on privacy information protection system for the first time ever.

It was announced that PIPA (Privacy Information Protection Assessment), operated by Software Industry Association in Dalian, China, which MPG (Dalian) Marketing Consulting Co. Ltd., MPG’s local subsidiary company, was recognized as the first certified company, and the Privacy Mark (“P-Mark”) of Japan will be mutually recognized by each other. This is the first time China and Japan conclude a mutual recognition agreement for privacy information protection system.

A signing ceremony for the mutual recognition of PIPA, operated by Dalian Software Industry Association of China and P-Mark of Japan is scheduled on October 19, 2008. This is the first time China and Japan conclude a mutual recognition agreement for privacy information protection system. According to the announcement by the “2008 Global Software and Information Services High Level Forum” held in Dalian on October 18, the signing ceremony will take place during the Opening Ceremony of “The 6th China International Software & Information Services Trade Forum” to be held at Dalian in the morning of October 19. PIPA is a system established by Dalian authorities for promoting smooth business partnership with Japanese companies in outsourcing and software exporting business and is a first privacy information protection program to be launched in China. Political Officer Kanae Yamamoto of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan who will attend the Forum appraise such efforts positively, stating that she “expects that such system originated in Dalian becomes accessible throughout China.” (by 王小燕)
