100th Anniversary Events for Japanese Immigration to Brazil

Immigration of Japanese citizens to Brazil was commenced in 1908 and this year it is celebrating its 100th Anniversary.

Around 250,000 Japanese (180,000 before WWII and 70,000 after WWII) had immigrated to Brazil so far, creating the world’s largest Japanese society abroad of currently around 1.5 million populations. To celebrate this historic milestone, Mr. Kazufumi Miyazawa, lead vocalist of a popular band THE BOOM, has hosted several events held in both Brazil and Japan between July and September. Masterpiece Group Inc. has supported and cooperated these events and back up the event held the Red Brick Warehouse in Yokohama on September 15.
